We will start in the morning and head to northern Israel along the coastal highway. Your first stop will be the incredible ancient city of Akko, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, dating back to the time of the Pharaoh Thutmose III (1504-1450 BCE). Here you’ll visit the underground world of the Hospitaliers.
We'll then visit Rosh Hanikra, located in the northwestern corner of Israel, on the border of Israel and Lebanon. The white chalk cliffs offer a spectacular panoramic view of Haifa Bay, the hills of the Galilee and the Mediterranean. The grottoes of Rosh Hanikra were formed by the sea chipping away portions of the soft chalk rock over thousands of years.
We'll have a delicious fish lunch in Akko, and then continue to our adventurous activity – Keshet Cave Rappelling.
The Arch at Keshet Cave offers the most beautiful view in Israel from the highest point in the Western Galilee, with a vista of the sparkling Mediterranean Sea and the entire Galilee. Once a real cave, the ceiling of the cave collapsed millennia in the past, leaving only an arch which gives the site its name. You can rappel off the mammoth natural stone arch bridging the mountains, sailing through the air with an amazing panoramic view surrounding you. We use cables to take the beautiful adventurous 40-minute hike back up – often accompanied by many curious mountain goats.
